If you’ve ever dreamt of professing your undying love on the beach, underwater or even in outer space, then have we got the competition for you.
More from Jamie Tabberer
The Lexi Cinema, in north west London, is offering you the chance to spend your special day with the stars, with a stunning backdrop of whatever you choose – provided it can be found on celluloid, of course. Founded in 2008, the Lexi donates a whopping 100% of its profits to a charity project called The Sustainability Institute (sustainabilityinstitute.net), which supports a disadvantaged rural village in South Africa.
The fabulous independent boutique cinema is now available to be hired for civil partnerships and receptions held in the unique setting of its 80-seater auditorium. Fear not though, weddingzillas, the rows of seats can be moved to accommodate your every whim. If it’s not Hollywood you fancy, the possibilities remain endless – the venue has previously held live music, dancing and burlesque shows in its cinematic space.
Its gorgeous Edwardian brick façade will seduce you with the words ‘I Am A Cinema. Love Me’ emblazoned on it, and after you’ve had a glimpse of the beautiful interiors, you soon will. A beautiful Bruce Monro light installation is the focal point of the main room, bathing you and your guests in a warm glow – and hiding those telltale bags.
As well as the silver screen, the venue also boasts one of the country’s top five sound systems, designed by Munro Acoustics, and a selection of local gourmet caterers. Add to that private parking and great transport links from central London and what more could you want?
