This pair of synth-addled tech-meisters make the kind of music that your body can but dance to – while your brain does autobahns and Bavarian death forests and, um, hot/difficult men fighting dark moods naked. Basically awesome, although not so great for wedding discos.

Any-hoo, if you haven’t thrown yourself at the nearest Fierce Angel compilation yet there’s good news: you can hear Booka Shade at Kentish Town Forum this Friday. Despite the all-round electro-tech excellence of albums The Sun & the Neon Light and this year’s More! somebody somewhere misjudged the duo’s popularity – the concert is a payback for Booka Shade’s Lovebox Festival appearance getting cancelled due to overcrowding. Yes, it’s like the Beatles, only with modern instruments.
