Drag Diary
Something for all you heathens out there
Drag Diary #14
After the last couple of weeks of drag-mania*, we thought we’d take a bit of a rest. And what better opportunity to plug another show for our good friends at the Soho Theatre.
So here goes. Our Lady J is a New York cabaret sensation and she'll be settling in from next week onwards with her UK debut: Gospel for the Godless.
She's not a drag queen (she's "a woman of a diverse gender experience"), but that’s not important. What is important is that she wears pearls and carries a gun. It's all ever so glam. Plus she's bloody talented. And we’re not sure about you but we love a bit of blasphemy, so you can count us in.
Fun fact: Earlier this year the diva-licious songstress held a fundraising gig called “Boob Aid”.
Guess what it was in aid of.
Lady J, we heart you. And not just because Jake Shears does. Although that is a contributing factor.
* [Noun] Excessive excitement or enthusiasm experienced when receiving press releases and/or tip-offs relating to more than one drag-queen inspired event at any one time.
