Chew Disco Needs You

If you're anywhere near Liverpool this weekend the get yourself to the Magnet Bar.

Chew Disco features three bands from across the country, a make-up stall, movie projections and more. The three bands are queer-core, electro and post-punk all of which have been given the thumbs up by Steve Lamacq and Artrocker as well as us here at GT.

Chew disco has been established as a monthly event focussing on human rights violation across the globe. The concept has been devised to raise money, but to also raise awareness about these issues.

This Fridays focus is the Iraqi LGBT's 'Safehouses Project’. The safehouses function is to protect LGBT individuals in Iraq who have chosen to come out and been subjected to the homophobia still present in a deeply religious country.

The event is for a fantastic cause and is going to be great fun with a scary and gory theme.

Where? Magnet Bar, Liverpool. When? Friday 7 August.
