Don't mess with Paris
I must confess I've always thought Paris Hilton was a waste of time.
And I know I'm not the only one. We've all wondered what exactly Hilton is famous for at one time or another.
But I am happy to stand here before you and admit that I may have misjudged the So Cal heiress.
Our story begins last week with a TV campaign ad that Republican presidential candidate John McCain released. In it he compares his Democratic rival Barack Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, branding him just another celebrity attention-seeker - all style and no substance.
McCain's televisual attack has been credited for the ever narrowing gap between himself and the initially popular Obama in the opinion polls.
But it seems that McCain is as guilty of underestimating Ms Hilton as the rest of us. She has hit back with her own faux-campaign ad. I won't give you a blow-by-blow account of the ad, but it manages in a minute and a half to make Hilton look like an intelligent young woman with a sense of humour, and make McCain look like a prat.
Enough from me - take a look for yourself.
