Is Madonna's mind starting to slip?

The 49-year-old's latest publicity stunt was almost identical to one she pulled (no pun intended) at the MTV Video Music Awards back in 2003.

This time it was a back-up-dancer, rather than poor Britney Spears, that was a victim of Madonna's girl-on-girl action, during a free concert earlier this week at The Olympia in Paris.

Her latest 'move' has been met with general derision. No one believes Madonna is a lesbian, and this is just something we've seen before. Can Madonna still remember events that happened five years ago?

Perhaps the 'queen of reinvention' has run out of steam...
