Back to the future
Sharleen Spiteri is releasing a solo album.
Doesn't she look nice in this picture?
It seems, like everyone else right now (bar Timbaland and The Neptunes), she's obsessed with the 60s.
The album is called Melody and will be proceeded by the "pop-fabulous & Shangri-La’s-lush"* single All The Times I Cried on July 7th.
“I’ve always wanted to make a Nancy Sinatra record,” explains the former Texas frontwoman. “Being on my own meant I could make the kind of album I’ve always dreamed of. That’s what Melody is all about. It’s my dream Nancy and Lee Hazlewood record, but with Johnny Cash, Motown, Elvis, Serge Gainsbourg, The Righteous Brothers, all these things thrown in. That’s what it boils down to. My ultimate personal fantasy record.”
So basically she's made a Duffy album, right?
Yes, *I copied this from the press release.
