At Last! Broadway Goes Gay....

Long seen - along with the US military - as one of the last bastions of heterosexual culture, New York's Broadway theatreland, looks set to finally get a chance to gay it up big time.
Scissor Sister Jake Shears - a notorious homosexualist - has announced he's going to write the songs for a stage adaptation of Armistead Maupin's Tales Of The City books, which are basically all about bumming and stuff.
The show is being produced by the people behind Avenue Q, and looks set to "hit" Broadway next year.
Luckily, one of the leading characters is called "Mary", so that's one song that's already in the bag.
It might have made sense to open the show in San Francisco, the city where the tales are set, but that would have been so unbelievably frigging gay that it would almost certainly have caused an earthquake, with many, many people dying needlessly.
