Rupert The Bore

Well-known political activist, occasional actor and full-time seleb, Rupert Everett has got a bee in his bonnet about Gay Prides.
He's currently down in Sydney promoting St Trinian's, just as Mardi Gras gets underway. Rupert told local fag mag SX; “I think all these Pride marches have lost their center slightly. If you encountered them in the beginning of the 1980s when the gay community was really in crisis with its back against the wall, they were very highly charged events about survival and trying to define ourselves and keep our heads up."
“Now, because of all the fighting that those people did, there is a generation of mindless drug addicts – party-grazing cows who move from one side of the planet to the other, getting high and fucking each other. I’m not saying whether that’s good or bad, but it’s not political anymore.”
In 2006, Rupert published his autobiography, Red Carpets And Other Banana Skins. Which featured rather a lot of drug-taking, partying, jetsetting and fucking. One review concluded it portrayed a man; "bereft of responsibility and commitment, a Toad of Toad Hall on stage and on drugs."
Of course Rupert has a point. Boo-hiss to the party-grazing cows! Here's a gay moo monster that SX interviewed just before the start of last year's Mardi Gras; “I’m going to the parade, I’m going to the party, I’m going to the after-party, and the after-after-party. And then, I imagine, I’m going to the hospital.”
His name - Rupert Everett.
Well done, dear.
