Scottish football goes gay
For the first time in Scottish football history gay teams from both Edinburgh and Glasgow will be competing against each other in a 5-a-side competition.
It will be "footballs at dawn" this Saturday (November 10th) when the HotScots take on a team formed from members of the Glasgow University LGBT Association.
Kevin Rowe, Chairman of the HotScots said: "This is only our second competitive tournament, and it's fantastic that we've been able to arrange a Scottish derby so quickly after only forming in February this year. We have friendlies coming up in the New Year with gay teams from England, so we'll take on the Auld Enemy soon too."
The HotScots are a gay and lesbian football team based in Edinburgh but welcome players and fans from across the whole of Scotland. They aim to compete in the gay World Cup which takes place in London in August 2008 and are currently looking for more sponsors to support this historic first appearance of a gay football team in a World Cup, so if you want to help please contact the Chairman via their website www.hotscotsfc.com or by calling 07808 263173 for further information.
