Bar Girls
So many openings, so few frocks. What's up this month? Well... we're not sure about this one - seems a little bizarre, but you be the judge...
A new Champagne bar, called the
Champagne Bar(!) has recently opened in the
New Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden. While it doesn't win the prize for Most Original Bar Title, it is at least on the shortlist for the Most Mismatched Drink and Glass award.
They've decided to serve the champers in cool-to-the-touch pewter tankards. These retro receptacles hold 250ml of bubbly, and a quaff comes in at just £10... which isn't bad. Maybe there's something in this after all.
The lounge itself is comfortable and a decently central spot from which to start a night of excess. Bottoms up.
