Brighton turns Blue for Pride 2014

Boy band Blue confirmed for this year’s Brighton pride

Take a deep breath, don’t scream too loud (or do, what do we care?) but Blue have been confirmed as a main stage act at Brighton Pride 2014.

That’s right, Anthony Costa, Simon Webbe, Lee Ryan and openly hunky Duncan James will be making the audience all rise (geddit? geddit?!) on 3 August.

The multi-platinum selling artists will no doubt be tearing away some shirts and fulfill the teenager poster boy dreams for all of us that have grown up since the year 2000.

Sam Bailey is another skyscraper of an act that has been confirmed, along with pop diva’s Stooshe and Katy B.

Over two days in the first weekend of August, Brighton Pride is fundraising for The Rainbow Fund and local charities.

Brighton and Hove Council have given the green light the Pride Village Party, a two-day long fundraising event starting on 2 August that extends down to the seafront.

The main event kicks off from 2pm on 3 August where music and entertainment will go through the night at Preston Park.

If you’re looking for something to do before Pride, the inaugural 5k Rainbow Run takes place on 27 July in Preston Park.

Described as ‘your Sunday morning disco workout’ runners will be encouraged to add on a new piece of fancy dress for every 1k they run.

Other events planned for the community day include a bears tug of war, Drag racing (the kind with makeup and heels, not cars and big egos) and five a side football.

Pride Village Party wristbands and Pride festival tickets are sold separately from the Brighton Pride site .
