Listen: GT’s top five Lily Allen songs

GT rounds up our favourite of Lily's hits…

Tonight the perpetually brilliant Lily Allen takes to the legendary Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury, so to celebrate we decided to share five of our favourite Lily Allen songs from over the years.

1. Smile
Who can forget Lily Allen’s first mainstream single? It shot to number one in the UK charts back in 2006, and since then has become a classic.

2. Bass Like Home
Allen’s recently released unofficial World Cup song is pretty catchy and we love it. With songs like this, we can almost forget England’s embarrassing performance in Brazil.

3. The Fear
The Fear is yet another classic. Released back in 2008 it was the single from her second studio album and we love it. It spent 16 weeks in the Top 40 and is Allen’s bestselling song. With good reason.

4. Somewhere Only We Know
Allen came out of retirement in 2013 with this beautiful cover of Keane’s song. It provided the soundtrack for John Lewis’s tear jerking Christmas advert (an essential part of every holiday season) and it was an instant hit.

5. Hard Out Here
This list would not be complete without Lily Allen’s anti-misogyny anthem. It divided opinion but it’s catchy, smart, and makes a great point. Definitely a favourite of ours.

If you can’t get enough of the talented songster, follow her on twitter @lilyallen for plenty of funny moments and pearls of wisdom…
