Watch: Trailer for Next Goal Wins

It's not just a documentary about football... it's so, so much more...

On the surface, Next Goal Wins may seem like just another documentary about a sport some people eat, sleep and breathe, and others just couldn't give a toss about.

But Next Goal Wins is an inspiring, heroic and genuinely funny tale of an underdog persevering against all odds.

In 2001, plucky island American Samoa faced a humiliating 31-0 defeat at the hands of Australia.

Fast-forward 13 years and they want to right that wrong in a daunting qualifying campaign for the 2014 World Cup.

Featuring the world's first transgender professional footballer – the 6ft centre-half Jaiyah, but more on her in our next issue – this heartwarming tale shows just how beautiful the beautiful game can be.

Next Goal Wins is out in selected cinemas across the UK, NOW. GT would like to thank the Football Association, who invited us to a special screening of Next Goal Wins at Wembley Stadium.
