Australian pop producer, Thief has put his own spin on the track that marked the start of Timberlake’s ‘post-Britney’ phase.
Minimalistic is an understatement; the song has been completely stripped back, with only bass, drums, a steel drum, and a couple of claps to accompany the vocals, until the chorus that is. Cue a brass section that does actually sound as though it could’ve jumped straight out of the earlier years of the last decade.
Watch out for this one, he’ll be releasing his debut EP, the Closer EP, later this month.
Can’t wait? Thief’s most recent single, Closer, is available on iTunes now.
