Calling all Londoners! Tom Daley wants your attention. Keep your filthy minds at bay, this is all strictly PG. The Olympic diver is urging those based in London and those visiting the capital to enjoy the world-class facilities available at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and to relive the 2012 legacy.
Scoring a bronze medal in 2012, the 19-year-old cherishes the memories made at the Olympic Park and allows himself to reminisce back to the 2012 games. He now trains there full-time and speaks highly of what is on offer for those who want to get involved, even it’s just for a casual swim.
In a video released by VisitLondon.com, Tom says, “This London Aquatics Centre has so many memories for me. To be able to train here full time is just amazing and I really do hope that lots of people are inspired to get involved in different sporting events and activities within the Park. The facilities we’ve got here are second to none. Even if people just want to come and have a swim and stay fit and active, that’s hopefully what the Olympic legacy has left behind.” And then goes onto elaborate on the highlights of the park. “There are so many places to come and explore around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. You can go and chill out on some of the green spaces, you can walk past the Olympic Stadium, the Velodrome, Copper Box and the Aquatics Centre. You can also go up to the top of the Orbit and enjoy panoramic views of the city.”
Daley currently lives in Stratford and is getting the most out of experiencing everything that the wonderful city of London has to offer, and can also be seen training by visitors to the pool – if that’s not enough reason to visit, then what is?
