Don't say we don't spoil you here at GT.
We've nabbed you an exclusive sneak preview of Bright Light Bright Light's brilliant new video for his single I Wish We Were Leaving, featuring none other than the legend himself, Sir Elton John.
It's taken from his EP of the same name, with the Welsh-born singing (real name Rod Thomas) saying about the song: "It's about accepting your relationship with someone you care about – friends or lovers. Sometimes you end up wishing for more than they're able to give – so it's better to be honest about what your actual relationship is and enjoy it for what it is."
Rod also told us that the track wasn't originally written as a duet, but sounded even more spellbinding with the addition of Sir Elton's vocals.
"I had a phone call from Elton saying he liked my first album, which just blew my mind," he said. "From then, I kept hearing his voice on the track. Although it wasn't written as a duet, I love that his voice taking lead in the second verse is a reminder that every relationship has two sides and two voices."
We're predicting big, big things for the young Bright Light Bright Light with this new EP, and chart domination is surely not too far out of reach. And Sir Elton is obviously no stranger to topping the charts himself, with 21 top 10 UK studio albums.
"Working with Bright Light Bright Light was a challenge for me," said Elton. "I love electronica, but I'm quite ignorant on the recording process. I had to sing in a completely different way, which I really enjoyed. The song spoke to me as soon as I first heard it, and I think that the combination of our voices is ethereal and beautiful. As is the song."
You can't get much bigger praise than that, so why not give the track a listen below while watching the new video, as we said, exclusive to GT.
Speaking on the filming of the video, Rod added: "When you get different video treatments pitched it's not always easy to know you're picking the right one, but when James and Johnny (Offside Rules) sent their idea across, completely by coincidence, the location they chose for the shoot is a burger joint that the person the song is about used to talk about all the time.
"So I thought that was as clear a sign as any. We got screamed at by the parking attendant and it was freezing, so all in all it was quite a day. But the team were lovely, and some of my best friends make little cameos, so it wasn't all drama.”
Bright Light Bright Light will be heading out to support the new release, with his first show at Cardiff's Buffalo Bar on 24 March, then Gullivers in Manchester on 31 March and London's Seabright Arms on 4 April.

It will also feature on his forthcoming second album Life Is Easy, due July 2014. His debut Make Me Believe In Hope was heaped with critical acclaim and described as “spectacular” and “extraordinary” upon its release in 2012.
