Adam Lambert is joining Queen on tour... again

Yeah, we know, he'll never replace Freddie... but he's still a damn good choice, we reckon...

Queen have announced they’re going back on the road. Brian May and Roger Taylor are teaming up with American Idol winner Adam Lambert for a 19-date tour of North America this summer. Although fans this side of the pond will be disappointed that the band have not announced any UK dates. AND WHY NOT? SORRY IT OUT, YEAH?

Right, ok, we're calm... Of course, no one could ever replace our Freddie, but we reckon Adam Lambert is a damn good substitute. And he's no stranger to the band either – they performed together on the 2009 American Idol final. He also joined them as lead singer at the MTV Europe Music Awards and embarked on a European tour that summer.

"I’m honoured to be able to pay my respects to Freddie’s memory," says Adam. "He’s a personal hero of mine, and I'm deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band. I know this tour will be a huge milestone for me.”

It is not clear whether any new material will be recorded for the tour but it’s certain to include Queen hits Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites the Dust and We Are the Champions.

And thinking about it, this is probably as good a time as any for one of our all time favourite Queen songs... go on, give it a listen. Guaranteed to make your Friday go that little bit quicker.
