Vaser Lipo Boom

Cosmetic surgeons see a boom in Vaser Lipo procedures

The uptake of cosmetic surgery has increased for both men and women over the last few years. Figures published by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) show that the number of men turning to cosmetic surgery in an effort to look good rose by 28% in 2013.

Cosmetic surgery methods and procedures have changed and improved greatly over the last decade; responding to the demand for less invasive but more effective surgery. People are more time starved than ever so a big shift has been to develop methods that involve less downtime. Patients can now have procedures carried out in their lunch break; a far cry from the time where you had to disappear for weeks after you had been nipped and tucked.

One of the procedures to see massive growth recently is liposuction, or more specifically Vaser Lipo.

What is Vaser Lipo?

Vaser Lipo uses traditional liposuction techniques used alongside ultrasound technology for a faster, less invasive treatment. By using ultrasound energy rather than the liposuction wand to break up fat, the surgeon can break up fat cells more effectively and less painfully.

The ultrasound energy used only targets fat cells, so surrounding muscle and tissue are unaffected. Once the ultrasound part of the surgery is complete then the broken down fat is removed using traditional suction techniques. Results have shown more fat removed in less time than with traditional liposuction techniques.

Why Vaser Lipo?

Vaser Lipo, unlike traditional liposuction, involves very little patient downtime. Because the fat cells are broken down using ultrasound technology, rather than the thrusting technique of the liposuction wand, bruising and swelling are minimal. This allows the patient to get back to normal activity quickly; in some cases within hours.

What areas can be targeted?

Vaser Liposuction is a versatile technique and because it isn’t as harsh on the body as traditional liposuction it can be used on a wide range of areas. If you suffer from pockets of fat on your back, buttocks or thighs, love handles or ‘moobs’ then Vaser Liposuction is worth looking into. Some men want a more chiselled jaw or to reveal that six pack they’ve spent so long working on and Vaser Liposuction can give you fast and effective results in these areas.

Find out about Matt’s Vaser Lipo procedure

Matt is a regular gym goer and even after losing a significant amount of weight, he still had areas of his body he wasn’t happy with; stubborn fat around his waist that just didn’t seem to be shifting. After hearing about Vaser Liposuction, Matt decided to give the treatment a go.

One of the main attractions of the procedure was its speed and short recovery time. As a busy professional Matt couldn’t justify a lengthy downtime period. After having a successful procedure on the Friday he was back at work on Monday with very little pain, bruising or swelling. Check out here.
