The roguish, harmonious smiles of The Overtones are back and we must say they are looking rather dapper. Foot tapping, hair swishing, and finger clicking to an uplifting feelgood new single, called Superstar.
What’s it all about? It’s about the affirmation of loving someone for who they really are. It’s about convincing that body and brain of yours to stop lacking confidence, to stop idolising those size zero models, take a goddamn hard look in the mirror and embrace that inner beauty. You go girl! Though in all honesty, Irish-eyed lead vocalist Timmy Matley’s and the rest of the toners banging on about how good looking we are half way through the week, doesn’t compare to how prim and proper they actually look in their Olly Murs style music vid.
The feel-good track is co-written with Karen Poole (she of Alisha's Attic who's written tunes for Kylie and Will Young), and produced by Tim Powell (Little Mix, Paloma Faith) and Jeremy Wheatley (John Newman). The Overtones are now on their sold out tour until the 22nd March, singing Superstar which fits seamlessly alongside the classic material on their ‘Saturday Night At The Movies’ album, which celebrates some of the most loved songs in cinematic history.
