Climate

The climate of Arkansas is typical of mountainous south central United States. The state's higher elevation and terrain moderates both the cold winters of the north and hot summers of the south. Arkansas has four distinct seasons and ample rainfall tending towards humid rather than arid weather. The wettest months occur from April to June and the driest months are December, January and February. Much of the rains occurs as showers. The best time of year to visit is the late summer months of September or October when the average temperature is in the mid 20's and it is not too wet.
