Description
I am a qualified counsellor and have experience of working therapeutically with young people aged 11-18 in schools, as well as adults who have sought help with a wide variety of issues. I work both short and long term with clients.
I also have experience working with lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) clients with issues relating to their sexuality and sexual identity, including those who have experienced domestic violence and sexual abuse and those who are HIV positive. Other issues worked with range from generalised anxiety and depression to relationship, family and work issues. My work with adolsecents includes issues around low self-esteem, bullying, exam anxiety, divorce and anger management.
My areas of interests include women and therapy, domestic violence, low self-esteem, working with black and minority ethnic (BME) clients, relationships, couples counselling and family therapy.
I have taken part in many continuing professional development activities covering issues such as domestic violence, forced marriage, therapy with gender and sexual minorities, child protection in therapy, eating disorders, alcohol and substance misuse in the LGBT community and working therapeutically with suicidal clients.
