Luxembourg is tolerant of homosexuality reflected in the fact that it is been legal in the Dutchy for over 200 years. The population of Luxembourg is quite small so the gay scene is limited with just three bars at the time of writing

Homosexuality was legalised in 1792. In 1992 a uniform minimum age of consent of 16 years for both homosexual and heterosexual contacts was introduced. In 1997 Luxembourg Parliament introduced legislation providing for prison sentences from one month to two years and/or fines for incitement to hatred, discrimination and violence or acts of discrimination based on amongst other things sexual orientation. Luxembourg however still has no partnership registration legislation

The best time to visit Luxembourg is in the summer months from May to September.
Luxembourg has a temperate and mild climate with cool summers and mild winters, although the northern winters can be severe. The high peaks of the Ardennes in the north shelter the country from the vigorous North Sea winds. Average annual precipitation is around 762 mm with the southwest receiving more rainfall. Average temperature ranges in the capital are from -1c to 2c in January to 13c to 23c in July.
