Barbados is a small Carribean nation with a tiny gay scene. Whilst homosexuality is technically illegal the law is rarely enforced against discreet (private) behaviour. In 2003 a Goverment minister floated the idea of legalising homosexuality which precipitated a fierce debate on the issue. Unfortunately deep homophobia abounds and the matter was never taken forward.

Barbados has a tropical maritime climate with temperatures tempered by the NE trade winds. The best time to visit is during the dry season between December to May when it is relatively cool.
The wet season (June to December) is hotter, wetter and more humid. Average annual rainfall varies from around 1,000 mm on the coast to 2,280 mm in the central ridge area. Average temperature ranges for Bridgetown are from 21c to 28c in February to 23c to 30c in June or September.
